Chapter 1: A Joyous Event

'm female!""I won’t get married! If I’m not getting married, then I’ll serve by Miss's side for life." Cai Lian shook her head and firmly said, "Please don’t joke with me anymore. Even if you were a m...Chapter 1: A Joyous Event

Rong Jing smiled lightly, like a snow lotus breaking through the clouds to bloom, reaching an extreme beauty in that instant.

Yun Qianyue looked at Rong Jing; her large smile suddenly froze at this moment. Her bright eyes were instantly filled with a dazed expression as if something had broken out before her, and she heard her heart beat loudly once. She was startled and abruptly turned her gaze away, anger in her tone that seemed inexplicable, "Who said I would watch the play with you No way! I'll watch my own show; what does it have to do with you"

Rong Jing deeply glanced at Yun Qianyue for a moment. The corner of his mouth curved up slightly as he sat down right next to her, smiling without saying a word.

Yun Qianyue felt that this fellow was nothing but a menace. She regained her composure and tossed the silk thread in her hand to him, "Take a look at this; do you have any thoughts"

Rong Jing reached out and took the silk thread, looking at it briefly before saying calmly, "No particular thoughts; this isn't enough evidence."

Yun Qianyue was dissatisfied with his dismissive response but had to admit that he was right. Especially as there were many wealthy people in the world, and the garments and shoes from Immortal Robe Shop weren’t limited edition goods—any woman could wear them if she had enough money. Relying solely on this silk thread indeed didn't say much.

"Nan Lingrui being able to give you something like this proves he's intelligent. This is indeed left by the person who threw the weapon, and that person must be a woman," Rong Jing continued.

"How did you know Nan Lingrui gave it to me" Yun Qianyue arched her eyebrows, looking at Rong Jing with thoughts that this person might actually possess foresight Could he truly know everything about what Nan Lingrui had said to her

"Do you think my eighteen Stealth Guards wouldn't check the place where the weapon was thrown Do you think Ye Qingran would ignore any clue left behind Just no one took anything away. When Nan Lingrui's Stealth Guard found this thread and gave it to him, he used this as a reason to find you—I naturally knew about it. Not only me, but Ye Qingran has known too," Rong Jing glanced at Yun Qianyue and spoke slowly.

Yun Qianyue thought of the pitiful Nan Lingrui who had just mocked that Ye Qingran. He probably didn't expect that traces left by both their people were found but not moved, instead being watched from a distance. As soon as he made any movement, they knew about it. She knew Rong Jing was ruthless, but she hadn’t expected that Ye Qingran was equally merciless. She looked at the thread with some speechlessness; Ye Qingran was suddenly elevated to the same level of cunningness as Rong Jing.

"There's no need to worry over such matters. In the future, just be careful around women who come close to you. You're so foolish that those attempting to harm you probably aren't very clever either; if they are foxes, their tails will eventually show!" Rong Jing tossed away the silk thread and said to Yun Qianyue.

"That person also attempted to harm you too, throwing weapons isn’t only targeted at me! If I'm not intelligent, it means you're equally foolish!" Yun Qianyue glared at Rong Jing; this bastard, did he feel uncomfortable if he didn't torment her for a day

"I've never said that I’m smart," Rong Jing smiled at Yun Qianyue and turned his head to ask softly, "Didn’t you want some lotus pond fried fish Should I prepare it now"

"No!" Yun Qianyue firmly refused with a cold face. To slap her hand and then give an apple, how could he do such a thing

"You slept soundly all night long yesterday; I didn’t sleep well either. Since you’re not eating it, I’ll use this time to catch up on my rest. You are not allowed to disturb me," Rong Jing stood up and walked towards the large bed.

"That’s my bed!" Yun Qianyue reminded him.

"Yesterday, I thought your room was still somewhat acceptable. This Cloud Prince Manor has only this place where I can sleep comfortably. If you don’t want to share a room with me, just go and sleep elsewhere; give up your room for me—I won't mind," Rong Jing said as he got into bed, pulling Yun Qianyue’s blanket over himself before closing his eyes.

"You wish!" Yun Qianyue looked at the thick-skinned man who was lying on her bed under her blanket and suddenly stood up. She walked to the bedside and looked down at him with mockery in her voice, "Are you Rong Jing Or rather, a big white cat that eats little and does nothing but sticks around me without leaving"

"You’ve eaten several meals I made for you, including a Heavenly Snow Lotus. You've lived in my house for half a month, and I've saved your life multiple times—none of which I ever asked anything about. Now, it's just sleeping on your bed," Rong Jing emphasized with his eyes closed.

Yun Qianyue had planned to say many mocking words but was left speechless by this remark. She stood at the bedside and looked at him calmly lying on her bed under her blanket without any change in expression. Grinding her teeth, she opened her mouth and finally just huffed, "Once my wound heals, you better hurry back to your house so you don't dirty mine."

"Rest assured; once you’re recovered, I’ll leave as soon as possible," Rong Jing replied.

Yun Qianyue didn’t want to deal with this man and turned around from the bedside. Just as she was about to return to the soft couch and sit down again, Nan Lingrui returned unexpectedly. She froze for a moment then changed direction towards the door, pulling back the curtain to look at him, "Why are you here Don't tell me that the first beauty of Southern Wilderness didn’t want to see you and sent you back"

"I feel better with you; this woman likes Ye Qingran, so even if I like her, it doesn’t matter. After your coming-of-age ceremony, I’ll petition Emperor Tian Sheng in the palace for a marriage order and marry you off to Southern Liang as my prince consort," Nan Lingrui said while fanning himself with his fan, looking handsome and debonair, no longer the anxious figure from earlier.

Yun Qianyue looked at Nan Lingrui, blinked her eyes twice, then suddenly laughed, "Alright! I’ve heard that Southern Liang has beautiful scenery all year round, green grass with flowers everywhere. This is exactly what I have in mind. And Prince Rui is handsome and charming; his status matches my identity perfectly. So, there’s no problem for me to marry into Southern Liang.

Nan Lingrui's footsteps halted.

The person lying on the bed in the room suddenly opened their eyes. It was Rong Jing.

"But I now like Rong Feng, if you agree to let me and Rong Feng marry into South Liang together, as long as His Majesty agrees, I would be more than happy to go. What do you think" Yun Qianyue asked with a smile.

Nan Lingrui staggered, nearly falling down. He steadied himself勉強站穩, and looked at Yun Qianyue in an odd manner, as if looking at a monster. Under Nan Lingrui's glaring eyes, Yun Qianyue remained calm and composed. He looked at her with admiration and then glanced into the room but didn't see Rong Jing. He then withdrew his gaze and suddenly chuckled, "Alright! I agree."

Tough guys are everywhere啊! Yun Qianyue raised her head to look at the sky, somewhat despising herself for really being influenced by her surroundings.

Rong Jing coughed softly in the room. His voice was emotionless as he said, "Prince Regent Nan has such broad-mindedness, truly impressive氣魄。 But I wonder if King of South Liang would be driven to death upon hearing that his prince wants to marry both a man and a woman."

Nan Lingrui's fan opened halfway and then dropped onto the ground with a "slap". He immediately bent down to pick it up, carefully checking for any damage. Seeing no damage, he held it lovingly in hand and said to Yun Qianyue, "I composed a melody called 'Peach Blossom Smile' a few days ago when I was bored. Would you like to come listen to it It seems that Young Master Rong is asleep, so there's nothing for you to do here anyway."

"Alright!" Yun Qianyue nodded and lifted her skirt to leave.

"Servant! Prince Regent Nan has been disturbing Miss Qianyue while she recovers. Please escort him out." Rong Jing’s voice remained emotionless依舊聽不出情緒。

"Yes, Young Master!" Xiangge immediately responded and stepped forward to deal with Nan Lingrui.

"I just happened to be in the mood for some practice," Prince Regent Nan laughed heartily as he faced off against Xiangge, preparing for a thorough fight to relieve boredom.

"No need to escort him out. Since I find his fan too bothersome, please destroy it completely." Rong Jing instructed again with moderate volume.

"Yes, Young Master!" Xiangge immediately changed his strategy and targeted Nan Lingrui's fan.

Nan Lingrui paled in shock and quickly shielded his fan. He canceled the idea of a fight with Xiangge, tip-toed lightly, and swiftly left Qianyue Pavilion. His voice drifted away, "Moonie, I kindly entertained your guests last night; now I'm tired too. I'll go back to sleep. That 'Peach Blossom Smile' melody will have to wait until another day."

With the last echo of his voice fading away, he was gone without a trace.

This was the first time Yun Qianyue saw Nan Lingrui's martial arts and agility. She never expected him to be so skilled; at least better than Night Tianqiong’s輕功. She pursed her lips, thinking that her own martial arts progress remained stagnant, not knowing when she could recover完全恢複.

Xiangge couldn't destroy Nan Lingrui's fan and naturally followed after him.

Rong Jing spoke quietly to stop Xiangge, "No need to chase! Just remember that if Prince Regent Nan comes disturbing Miss Qianyue’s recovery again, you only need to ruin his fan."

"Yes!" Xiangge stopped and gave Yun Qianyue a strange look before retreating.

Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes and turned back in boredom. Seeing Rong Jing still lying on the bed with closed eyes, she walked up to him angrily, staring at him, "I want to hear music now, you drove away my musician, so you need to make it up."

"No makeup!" Rong Jing said plainly.

"You have no choice but to make it up. If not, I won't let you sleep." Yun Qianyue reached out to pull back the blanket. As soon as her hand touched the edge of the quilt, he held down her wrist with his hand, making her even angrier. She decided she would deal with him today and stared at him fiercely, asking, "Are you going to play or not"

Rong Jing opened his eyes suddenly sighed, grabbing Yun Qianyue's wrist gently, pulling her back onto the bed. Before she could speak, he whispered softly, "Even if I make it up, do I have a qin for me to use"

The resistance and kicking actions in Yun Qianyue’s mind froze. She seemed to... not have a qin!

"Better go to sleep then! Your complexion is terrible now; excessive blood loss calls for bed rest." Rong Jing covered her eyes gently, his voice carrying an air of tranquility and serenity that washed over one's soul. "Think about it, wasting such a beautiful spring day by not sleeping only adds stress. If Grandpa Yun finds out, he'll surely send you back to the study room. Then where would you find time to rest Even if Grandpa Yun doesn't send you there, now that Ye Qian has arrived in the capital, Southern Border will have to account for the curse bug incident. We’ll also need to go and observe the scene. Our days of rest are only these two days. Do you still want to waste time"

Yun Qianyue immediately abandoned her idea of listening to music. Indeed, nothing was as comfortable as a good sleep. Perhaps such beautiful spring weather would be hard to come by again unless she got injured once more, but who would willingly suffer injury Unless one is ill! She saw blackness before her eyes, enveloped instantly by the familiar scent like snow and lotus. Although originally not sleepy, drowsiness now hit her unexpectedly. Yawning, she pushed Rong Jing's hand away, somewhat unwilling to be deceived again: "In broad daylight, who would share a bed with you You go sleep in another room. What about my reputation if this gets out I still want to get married!"

Rong Jing's eyes flickered as he lay still and said in a soft tone, "Your reputation is already not good to begin with; it doesn't matter if there are more rumors." As soon as his words fell, before Yun Qianyue could refute him, he covered her mouth with his hand and instructed the others outside, "Xuanyue, Molie, no matter who comes today, even if it's His Majesty, you must stop them at the door. Did you hear me"

"Yes!" Xuanyue and Molie responded in unison.

Yun Qianyue pushed Rong Jing's hand away and frowned as she asked, "Why do my close bodyguards follow your orders"

"Do you want to let someone come in and disturb us sleeping" Instead of answering, Rong Jing retorted with a question, "You don't like me anyway, and I find you unpleasant too. The only reason I'm here is to prevent you from accidentally hitting your injured arm while you sleep. You can rest assured that we're just sharing the same bed for now. I have no appetite for anything else, nor would it damage your reputation."

This silenced Yun Qianyue entirely. She thought about it and realized he was right—back when they were at the Wild Camp, during winter without any heating equipment, everyone huddled together to stay warm regardless of gender. She didn't have strong reservations about such things herself; she figured she couldn't drive this person away anyway so might as well keep quiet.

Seeing Yun Qianyue say nothing, Rong Jing took it as tacit acceptance and smiled slightly.

Yun Qianyue fell asleep quickly after lying down. She didn’t realize that she had remained in Rong Jing’s embrace with her head on his arm ever since she lay down. His hand wasn't pressing against her injured arm but rather around her waist.

Hearing Yun Qianyue's even breathing, Rong Jing turned to look at her without blinking, gazing deeply into her eyes for a long time before closing them himself; his fair face now radiating warmth like springtime.

The room was filled with a faintly tranquil and warm atmosphere as their regular breaths interwove softly together.

Outside, Zhao Mama, Cailian, Tingxue, and Tingyu all remained silent, although they felt it inappropriate for the Prince of Jing and Yun Qianyue to share a bed during daylight hours. No one dared voice any objections. They sensed that their mistress treated the Prince of Jing differently from others—a special existence despite her cold words and attitude toward him. Even though she appeared to dislike him intensely, there was more beneath the surface which they couldn't articulate; thus, they kept silent about his staying overnight at Yun Qianyue’s room.

Not long after the two of them fell asleep, various branches of the Yun Family came for visits. Cailian blocked their way outside by stating that her mistress was resting in bed. Everyone left without causing trouble since they understood the situation well enough.

No one could visit Yun Qianyue from then on; those who couldn't be deterred, like Ye Tianyu and Yun King, were stopped at the door by Molie.

Ye Tianyu didn’t meet Yun Qianyue each time anyway. He merely went through the motions before leaving without further ado. Yun King knew that Molie followed Yun Qianyue’s orders alone and thus did not force his way in, only asking about her condition briefly before departing.

At noon, Old Grand Duke Yun came to Yun Qianyue's room. Cailian nervously tried to stop him outside but was ignored by the old man who walked straight inside; she followed behind hesitantly until Molie intercepted them at the door.

The old duke raised an eyebrow at Molie, "The stinking brat just injured her arm She refuses visitors which is understandable, but not even me—her grandfather—is welcome What’s going on here"

Molie lowered her head and softly replied to Old Grand Duke Yun, "Prince Jing is also resting in the young miss’ room!"

Old Grand Duke Yun was taken aback; looking at Yun Qianyue's room, he saw that it was tightly closed off. He frowned and leaned close to Molie, whispering, "You mean Prince Jing is resting with Stinking Brat Didn’t she arrange a separate room for him"

"Reporting back to Old Grand Duke, Prince Jing stayed out of concern the young miss might hurt her arm in an awkward sleeping position," Molie whispered back.

“So that’s it! Ha ha… indeed, this must be Prince Jing. I can rest easy knowing he's here. With him around, Stinking Brat will recover faster. Since I have many other matters to attend to and can't come every day to check on her injury, tell Prince Jing when they wake up that I gave my permission for him to stay comfortable. Ensure her arm heals well," Old Grand Duke Yun laughed in satisfaction.

"Yes!" Molie answered promptly.

The old duke turned to Cailian and sternly said, "Take good care of your mistress, you little wench! As the senior maid here now, manage everyone properly—work hard without gossiping. If there’s even a hint of talk outside about Prince Jing staying over, I'll hold you accountable."

"Yes! Slave girl will surely handle Shallow Moon Pavilion well!" Cailian had expected Old Grand Duke Yun to be enraged and rush in upon hearing this, but instead he seemed pleased. She vaguely understood something yet remained confused as she hurriedly promised compliance.

“Good then!” old grand duke didn't enter the room but walked away.

Molie retreated while Cailian quickly gathered everyone to convey and enforce silence about Prince Jing’s stay.

The past few days had seen Yun Shallow Moon Pavilion improve tenfold due to Yun Qianyue's leadership, along with her initial cleanup of morally corrupt individuals. The remaining staff were loyal and discreet; thus, without Cailian having to warn them specifically, no outside knowledge leaked regarding Prince Jing's presence.

From then on, no one disturbed Shallow Moon Pavilion again. Rong Jing and Yun Qianyue slept peacefully while the pavilion remained quiet as ever.

Yun Qianyue and Rong Jing didn't just sleep for a day, but an entire night.

When Yun Qianyue woke up, she opened her eyes to see the sky gray and gloomy. She could hear raindrops hitting against the window with a pitter-patter sound. Rubbing her blurry eyes, she looked out the window in confusion; when she fell asleep, it was bright and sunny. She couldn't understand why it started raining.

"You must have fallen into a deep sleep," Rong Jing said with a light laugh as he gazed at Yun Qianyue's drowsiness, his voice clear but slightly hoarse.

Yun Qianyue turned her head in the direction of his voice to see that Rong Jing held a book and was smiling at her. He had obviously been awake for quite some time since he'd already read half of it. She asked, "What's the time When did it start raining"

"The rain started last night around midnight. It’s almost noon now; you really know how to sleep," Rong Jing said with a smile.

"No wonder! I must have slept for an entire day and night." Yun Qianyue lazily retracted her gaze, closing her eyes again. She should feel incredibly comfortable after sleeping so long, but instead she felt achy all over and lacked energy. Furrowing her brows, she asked, "Did you not give me a blanket Otherwise, how could I be feeling this bad"

"You took all the blankets for yourself; if I wasn’t frozen from your coldness, it would have been a miracle. Don't blame me," Rong Jing put down his book and touched Yun Qianyue's forehead with his hand. "Your temperature is normal; are you really feeling that uncomfortable"

"Whatever, I just feel bad." Yun Qianyue harrumphed, then suddenly remembered something and narrowed her eyes dangerously at Rong Jing. "You didn’t do anything to me, did you"

Rong Jing's hand twitched; seeing Yun Qianyue’s wide eyes with a dangerous glint in them, he thought she would immediately kill him if he said yes. Sighing helplessly and exasperatedly, he said, "What could I do to you Your sleeping posture is so ugly that it wouldn’t pique my interest even if I did something."

Yun Qianyue looked at Rong Jing doubtfully.

Rong Jing ignored her and picked up his book again, throwing out a sentence, "You probably overslept!"

"Maybe." Yun Qianyue thought that even if she slept like a pig, this bastard would still be unable to do anything to her without her noticing. So, she lazily closed her eyes again and felt completely unenergetic, thinking it might really be due to oversleeping.

"Aren’t you hungry Why don’t you get up" Rong Jing asked with his head tilted when he saw that Yun Qianyue had no intention of getting out of bed.

"Not hungry!" Yun Qianyue remained lying still.

"Get up. Your wound needs to be changed," said Rong Jing.

Yun Qianyue opened her eyes and looked at her arm, noticing that it seemed different from when she had gone to sleep. She raised an eyebrow at Rong Jing, who explained, "Last night I changed your medicine bandage once; you slept so deeply throughout the entire process."

"You were quite conscientious," Yun Qianyue put down her arm. She could feel that her wound was healing and thought his medical skills and medicinal powder were indeed excellent—this kind of injury would usually take seven to eight days to heal, yet it had already healed after just two nights.

"For the future… I naturally need to be conscientious," Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue meaningfully.

"That’s true. Otherwise, if my arm gets a scar, how could my future husband find it pleasing If you don’t take care of me properly, I’ll resent you for the rest of my life." Yun Qianyue harrumphed and felt that she couldn't lie down any longer; otherwise, she'd be paralyzed. She took a deep breath and sat up.

"Being remembered by you for a lifetime doesn’t seem so bad," Rong Jing seemed to have smiled.

"Stop talking nonsense and move out of the way quickly, I need to get off the bed." Yun Qianyue kicked Rong Jing lightly.

Rong Jing couldn't read anymore and could only put down his book, sitting up. He reached out to lift the quilt intending to get out of bed; just as he lifted a corner of it, his gaze froze on something, stopping him from moving.

"Quickly now, what are you waiting for" Yun Qianyue impatiently urged Rong Jing.

Rong Jing sat motionless, stiff all over. His poetic and picturesque face kept changing expressions; his expression was very strange.

"What's wrong" Yun Qianyue noticed something amiss with Rong Jing and frowned at him. "Is there a flower under the quilt"

Rong Jing looked up at Yun Qianyue, seeing her confused look. He suddenly turned his face away without saying anything.

"Let me see, what kind of flowers have bloomed inside the blanket that made you look like this!" Yun Qianyue reached out to pull back the covers, and her entire body froze in an instant when she saw what was underneath. Her small face turned countless shades of color before all the colors faded away, replaced by a red blush that spread across her cheeks as if they were on fire, even burning her ears. She quickly pulled the blanket up again and said angrily yet embarrassingly: "You... you bastard, get out right now!"

No wonder she felt so uncomfortable with body aches and back pain! It turned out that the legendary menstrual period had arrived. Not only did it mess herself up but also messed him up too. Oh heavens, kill her!

"This isn't my doing," Rong Jing tilted his head to avoid looking at Yun Qianyue as redness crept onto his ears.

"Of course! If you could do that, then you wouldn’t be a man" Yun Qianyue was both angry and embarrassed, roaring in fury.

Rong Jing froze for a moment before turning to look at Yun Qianyue. Seeing her flushed red face like a cooked duck, the awkwardness he felt earlier suddenly disappeared. It was rare to see her so flustered and angry; it made him chuckle a bit. "You finally realized that you’re a woman. That’s great news! Well done!"

"And you still dare say that Get out of here immediately!" Yun Qianyue felt utterly humiliated. Anyone would feel like banging their heads against the wall with such an incident happening to them, and she had the same impulse right now. She kicked Rong Jing away in anger: "Get out quickly!"

This time, Rong Jing was extremely obedient; he got up from bed, put on his shoes, and walked towards the door.

"Wait!" Yun Qianyue saw Rong Jing about to leave and immediately shouted to stop him.

Rong Jing stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her.

"You... your clothes..." Yun Qianyue looked at the bloodstains on Rong Jing’s white brocade robe, feeling frustrated. If he left like that, she would never be able to face anyone again. What kind of situation was this

Rong Jing lowered his head and saw the bloodstains on his own robe too. His fair complexion also turned red. He had never experienced such a situation before either, so he hesitated while looking at Yun Qianyue with uncertainty in his eyes, "Then... what should I do Shouldn’t I leave"

Yun Qianyue was extremely embarrassed and angry but couldn't vent her emotions. She glared at Rong Jing with a red face and said through gritted teeth: “Take off your clothes before you go!”

"Alright!" Rong Jing nodded and reached out to take off his outer robe.

Yun Qianyue turned away, feeling extremely regretful. She wished she had insisted on kicking this bastard out or slept in the next room instead. If either of those happened, such an awkward situation wouldn’t have occurred now.

"But my inner robe is also stained," Rong Jing said helplessly after taking off his outer robe.

Yun Qianyue turned around to see that the bloodstains had also reached Rong Jing’s white undergarment. Her small face alternated between pale and red as she angrily shouted: "Take it off too!"

Rong Jing’s hand trembled, dropping his robe onto the floor. He stared at Yun Qianyue with a flushed face, saying: “If I take it all off...”

Yun Qianyue suddenly lay back into bed and covered her face with the blankets, wishing she had never met this man! She angrily said: "I’m dead; don’t talk to me!" Rong Jing watched Yun Qianyue pretending to be dead by covering herself in the blanket. He rubbed his forehead, seemingly at a loss as to how to deal with such an awkward situation despite being exceptionally talented and gifted. So he just stood there without moving.

Yun Qianyue stayed under the covers for some time but didn’t hear any noise from Rong Jing. She then pulled back the blankets, peeked out, and looked at him. He was staring gloomily at his clothes, completely flustered and clueless, which was a stark contrast to his usual calm demeanor. Suddenly, she remembered that this man was only seventeen years old. In her world, men of this age were still considered boys. Despite being mature and calculating, he remained just an immature boy in some aspects. Simply put, he wasn’t quite a full-fledged man yet. Realizing this, the awkwardness and embarrassment vanished from Yun Qianyue’s face as she looked at him with amusement.

Feeling Rong Jing's gaze on her, Yun Qianyue raised her head to look at him. He appeared both embarrassed and helpless, seemingly caught off guard by the situation, which was quite different from his usual sharp-tongued and ruthless demeanor.

Rarely seeing such a flustered Rong Jing, Yun Qianyue held back her laughter for a moment but couldn’t help it anymore. She burst into giggles. It suddenly occurred to her that although she felt embarrassed, he wasn't doing much better either.

"How can you still laugh You’re truly heartless!" Rong Jing put down his hand and was both surprised and annoyed when Yun Qianyue started laughing at him. He narrowed his eyes at her, asking: "What should we do then Tell me quickly!"

Yun Qianyue looked at Rong Jing, finding it amusing to see him flustered like this. She suddenly burst into laughter again, saying between laughs: "Rong Jing, you’ve met your match today! Truly, the heavens have opened their eyes."

"What has that got to do with the heavens Don’t forget that you’re the one who messed up my clothes. If you stay in bed any longer, there will be blood all over it." Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue laughing without any decorum and remained calm, reminding her matter-of-factly.

Yun Qianyue’s laughter stopped abruptly as she glared darkly at him: "Even if it's covered in blood, that doesn’t concern you!"

"If it isn't my concern, then lie there and stay put," Rong Jing said calmly. “And when people ask, I’ll kindly tell them that Miss Qianyue’s coming-of-age ceremony is approaching soon, she will finally be a grown-up.” With this, he turned around and left.

Crap! This dead man! Yun Qianyue's face changed, and she shouted, "You're not allowed to go out! Try going just one step."

Rong Jing acted as if he didn't hear her and reached for the door.

"Who said it has nothing to do with you Come back!" Yun Qianyue could only soften her tone. She knew that this man would do anything, no matter how black-hearted, so she couldn’t let him run around spreading nonsense.

"It really has something to do with me" Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue with raised eyebrows as he turned back to face her.

"Really has something to do with you," Yun Qianyue had the urge to hit him.

"Alright, since it concerns me, then I won't go out." Rong Jing loosened his grip on the door handle and walked back, a hint of amusement hidden in his eyes.

Yun Qianyue thought that she shouldn’t waste her energy dealing with an immature man like him. She took a deep breath and said to Rong Jing, "Let Xuan Ge bring you a set of clothes."

"Xuan Ge was dispatched by me to invite Qian Yan at the Money Clan's residence. He’s not here right now," Rong Jing replied.

"Then Mo Li! Tell Mo Li to fetch your clothes for you." Yun Qianyue couldn’t bring herself to order Mo Li around, so she had no choice but to let Rong Jing call on him; she didn’t want to lose face.

"I'm concerned that Xuan Ge might encounter an emergency on the way and can't handle it alone. So I sent Mo Li with him." Rong Jing explained further.

"You…" Yun Qianyue looked at Rong Jing angrily, "If you could have Xuan Ge leave without a second thought, why do you need to use my personal guard"

Yun Qianyue wondered if Mo Li was too incompetent, and whether she should consider replacing him.

"Considering our relationship, there's no need for such formalities. You can even take the blow for me; what’s wrong with me borrowing your guard" Rong Jing seemed to have read Yun Qianyue’s thoughts as he said slowly, "Mo Li hails from the Mo family, a mysterious clan known for producing guards generation after generation. They are adept at covert operations and assassination techniques, especially in stealth skills. As the best of the new generation in the Mo Family, you would be doing me a favor by letting him go."

"Dream on! I won't give him to you." Yun Qianyue immediately dismissed the idea upon hearing Rong Jing’s words; she glared at him and said, "Now that you've driven them all away, who will fetch your clothes for you Don’t tell me there are clothes in this room that fit you"

"You're right," Rong Jing looked towards the bedhead as he continued, "I forgot. Xuan Ge left a few sets of clothes here when he departed."

Yun Qianyue looked at the bed and saw neatly folded clothing there - all in pale moon white brocade robes. Her expression turned sour; she grabbed them and threw them towards Rong Jing, exclaiming angrily, "Why didn’t you forget your head"

Rong Jing caught the clothes thrown at him with a slight smile, “Because of you! If you keep acting this way, it wouldn't be unusual for me to forget my head.”

Yun Qianyue huffed and without minding her embarrassment, she urged Rong Jing, "Hurry up and change! Go behind the screen."

Rong Jing didn’t say anything this time. He nodded and walked behind the screen with his clothes in hand. Soon after, sounds of changing clothes could be heard from behind the screen. Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes and pushed back the covers to get out of bed; she took a clean set of clothing from the wardrobe and returned to the bedside. She instructed Rong Jing, "Don't come out even when you've changed your clothes. I'll let you out after I'm done."

"Alright," replied Rong Jing.

Yun Qianyue began undressing but suddenly paused halfway through and remembered an important matter – whether there were sanitary napkins in this world. If not, what should she use
