Chapter 840: The Bar That Sells Drunkenness

her ears over and over, but she couldn't understand a single word. She was dazed and confused, her eyes vacant and staring blankly at the doctor above her. He kept talking, his mouth moving incessant...They have been dating for seven years.

Henry thought he knew everything about her.

Lately, she suddenly wants to get married, suddenly wants to break up, suddenly wants to leave him, and suddenly a rich friend from somewhere appears and gives her over two million.

Yet he was utterly oblivious.

The work on the set couldn't be put on hold indefinitely. After two months of wallowing, Henry could only resume work.

Even though Fang Mei had left, agent Jiang Shiyi found she was still unable to develop a good relationship with Henry.

Because Henry would go straight to the bar after work, sitting alone in a corner of the bar and drinking heavily.

He got himself totally drunk every night.

His personality changed, too. He started to become less talkative and withdrawn from others.

Even the director and a few familiar behind-the-scenes crew members from the show came to complain, saying Henry's recent performance on the program has been much worse.

Especially Henry seemed to have lost his luster. His eyes were gloomy and dim, no longer smiling, devoid of his former sunny handsomeness.

The crew constantly reminded Henry to adjust his emotions for the sake of program quality.

But Henry couldn't bring himself to do it. Even though he was usually polite and friendly with everyone, he didn't say a word. On the show, he just went through the motions of cooking, finished up, and left work as if he were someone else entirely.

"The viewership of the program has dropped a lot recently."

"Audience and fans have been commenting that Henry isn't himself."

"Henry's original persona was sunny and handsome, what happened to him now As his agent, you should have a good talk with him and help him get back in shape as soon as possible."

"Tell him to do his job for the money and not act entitled. We have plenty of popular influencers here, and he might want to think twice about staying in this business if he doesn't."

The show's investors sent representatives to give a lecture.

The agent, Jiang Shiyi, repeatedly apologized to him, she really didn't dare to offend these big sponsors.

"Henry, you can't do this anymore. Stop drinking!" Jiang Shiyi caught him at the bar again.

"I told you to stop drinking, you're drunk."

"You haven't seemed to eat all day, you know Drinking like this can really hurt your body!"

Henry kept drinking sullenly, the 50-plus degree brandy going down his throat like water. The liquor burned and stung, a painful sensation that he found strangely liberating.

"Henry, you can't be so childish. It's just a breakup with a woman."

"You, you're deliberately trying to self-destruct! Are you trying to torture yourself"

Jiang Shiyi has worked with Henry for many years, and she's never seen him like this before - so depressed and giving up.

And she scolded and pleaded, but Henry would not listen to her.

"Do you know that our work has encountered problems now Investors have sent people to talk about it. Henry, you must adjust yourself. You can't go on like this..."

Jiang Shiyi was worrying about how to face several investor representatives tomorrow.

After much difficulty, she managed to persuade Fang Mei to back down. However, everything turned out quite differently from what she had expected.

She couldn't persuade Henry, nor could she control him.

As his manager for so many years, Jiang Shiyi had seen Henry's true stubbornness. He seemed to not care about his career at all, being childish, obstinate, and completely unreasonable! It was impossible to reason with him!

This isn't the cheerful, handsome, considerate and humorous Henry she knew.

She kept him company all night, he drank sullenly, she talked until her throat was dry, yet he didn't utter a single word in response, treating her as if she were air.

Jiang Shiyi really couldn't take it anymore.

If Henry doesn't recover soon, the show will be canceled and they'll face severe consequences. She definitely doesn't want to jeopardize her career.

"Do you know where Fang Mei is" Jiang Shiyi hesitated before finally speaking.

That stone-like man suddenly stiffened his neck and slowly turned his head. His hazy eyes focused little by little, staring intently at her.

"What did you say"

Henry's voice was hoarse from drinking too much.

Jiang Shiyi became agitated, "I told you not to drink so much! Your throat is like this now, you can't go to work tomorrow, and that will affect the program."

She was furious!

Many times, Jiang Shiyi cares about him because he has commercial value.

Although Henry wasn't as shrewd as those business magnates, he wasn't stupid either. He was simple-minded and had a clear perspective. He knew best who treated him well.

Over so many years, even though countless beautiful, intelligent and talented women have confessed their love to him, he hasn't been moved. He knows what true happiness means to him.

"You just said that you knew where Fang Mei was, right"

Henry was drunk, his speech slurred and punctuated by hiccups.

The grip on her hand was surprisingly strong, the agent's wrist was seized tightly, bruising a red patch on Jiang Shiyi's palm. It hurt so much she tried desperately to pull away.

“You hurt my hand, let go! It hurts!”

"...Well, well, I'll tell you right now,"

Jiang Shiyi was a little scared by his expression, stammering quickly, "I saw her on the street a few days ago. She's now working at the ; headquarters building."

Henry had a headache, brought on by drinking too much. He looked dazed at his agent, mumbling to himself, "building... building..."

His first thought was, "Impossible. How could Fang Mei go to that place"

Even if Fang Mei wanted to find a job, she should go to a restaurant.

But, even if it was impossible, he had to go, he had to find her. shrew!Jun Zhi Mu's eyes were cold as he looked at the woman who was flirting with him on his lap. He glanced at the glass etched with red lips, but remained silent."Come have a sip," the seasoned pla...
