Chapter 89: In the Name of Love, I Shall Confine You

tinguished guests. Yet, the customer before them seemed uninterested in the feast laid out before him.He sat on the chair, smoking a cigarette, his eyes arrogantly glancing at the woman standing besid...Let go...

"Your shepherd, let me go..."

She was dragged down the stairs by her wrist.

Qiao Bao'er frowned, looking at the cold profile of the man before her. He suddenly appeared in this old apartment, coldly dropping a sentence, 'What do you think of me', then reaching out to drag her away. She couldn't understand what he was thinking at all.

Jo Baoer turned her head, her gaze filled with worry as she looked up the stairs...

He dragged her away, Yi Sicheng wouldn't let go. In the tug-of-war, Yi Sicheng's footing was unsteady and he fell down himself, his arm seemingly pierced by several shards of glass.

"Worried about him"

His voice was cold and his eyes stared straight at her, making Qiao Bao'er inexplicably feel a chill in her heart.

Jun Zhi Mu stared hard at her shrinking form, telling her word by word, "My cousin has someone watching your apartment across the street. He really cares for you…" The last words dripped with sarcasm.

Qiao Bao'er was furious, "Jun Zhimu, what do you mean by that! I only helped Yi Sicheng because he was drunk, we didn't..."

"Come in!"

He lost his patience and ordered her to get into the car.

The car roared to life and smoothly merged onto the highway. He kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead, while Qiao Baier in the passenger seat watched the man beside her with a complicated expression. He remained silent, and the atmosphere suddenly became quiet.

Jo Bao'er looked at him, wanting to speak but not knowing what to say.

He only texted her last night saying that there were some issues in the US and he wouldn't be back until next month, but now he suddenly appears in the city...

He was still handsome and dashing in his expensive suit, but he seemed to have lost some weight. There was a hint of fatigue between his brows.

He had been in America for about two weeks, and inexplicably, she felt like it had been ages since she'd seen him.

Qiao Bao'er turned her head, her mind in turmoil. She had so many questions she wanted to ask him.

Especially what Yì Sichen said, six years ago...

She hesitated for a long time in her heart, wanting to ask him, but as she swept her gaze over the unfamiliar scenery outside the car window, her expression was startled, "Where are we going!"

This is not the way home.

He didn't answer her.

It was already evening, the sky was getting dark, and streetlights began to illuminate the road.

Jun, as the driver for once, kept a stoic expression on his sharp side profile. His right hand gripped the steering wheel tightly as he turned at the intersection and sped into the darkness ahead.

After about thirty minutes of driving, the car exited the highway. The surrounding street scenery gradually brightened up, with colorful lights, neon signs, and billboards flashing constantly.

This is a very famous entertainment district in the eastern part of the city, and some people secretly call it "Little Las Vegas". It is said that during the day, this area is like a deserted city, lifeless and dull. But when night falls, this place comes alive with excitement and revelry.

Many travelers came seeking it out as night deepened, but without a local's help, they couldn't even find a way in.

But this place was very unfamiliar to Qiao Baoer.

Junzhi's car did not enter the most prosperous area, but instead turned left onto a secluded path.

Qiao Bao'er looked at the unfamiliar scenery ahead, and a feeling of unease suddenly rose in her heart.

Why did he bring me here

In a while, the car stopped in a spacious and quiet alley.

As soon as Junzhi Mu opened the car door, two people hurried over. They had smiles on their faces and bowed slightly as they whispered something in his ear.

"Come out."

Jun Zhi Mu turned his head and called out to the people in the car. His voice was cold and distant, making it impossible to tell what he was feeling.

She sat in the passenger seat, feeling deeply anxious. She unbuckled her seatbelt and slowly got out of the car with a wary expression on her face.

Just as Qiao Bao'er had just stepped out of the car, the two men standing behind them visibly expressed surprise, as if they were surprised that Jun Zhimu brought a woman over.

The two men didn't seem to dare look her directly in the eye either, merely nodding slightly at Qiao Bao'er before leading them on their way with serious expressions.

We walked all the way to the end of the dim alley. One man stepped forward and knocked five times, three long and two short, on a nondescript iron gate at the front.

The heavy metal gate creaked open.

Qiao Bao'er looked around, her expression startled.

Although the lighting wasn't very bright, you could see that the displays and decorations were opulent. As I walked inside step by step, I could occasionally hear some noisy music coming from within. The further I went in, the brighter and more glaring the lights became.

And the tension in her heart gradually grew larger.

She followed Jun Zhimu into the elevator, to the fourth floor below. She always felt that this floor number was ominous, and the man beside her had a cold face and didn't say a word.

When you reach the fourth floor below, before you lies an elegant corridor. On either side of the walls hang European crystal lamps, casting an orange light that is not bright, but rather gives off a somewhat eerie feeling.

Every step Qiao Baoer took echoed in the silence of this floor.

Moreover, when some passersby happened to meet them, those people would immediately stand still, lower their heads slightly, and give way.

And those people would subconsciously glance at Qiao Bao'er, as if her appearance was strange, which made Qiao Bao'er's scalp tingle.

What on earth is this place

The man who had been leading the way suddenly took a phone call. After hanging up, he walked to Jun Zhi牧's side and whispered, "Young Master Jun, Jun Qingya gave Easy Group the Haicheng project, but the budget came out three times higher than the market price..."

It's obvious they are discussing some business matters. Jun Qingya is using her position within the Jun family to financially support her in-laws.

Jun Zhi Mu knew that several of her aunts had been trying every trick in the book to get ahead within the group.

However, Qiao Baoer found it strange that this man directly called out Jun Qingya's name. After all, Jun Qingya was also Jun Zhimu's aunt, and the man's tone sounded rather disdainful, let alone respectful.

These people are not from the Jun family.

Qiao Bao'er recalled that the people from Master Jun's side usually called Jun Zhimu, "Zhimu Young Master".

"If you want money, you can have it," Jun Zhi Mu walked to a thick, black-wood carved door, his face cold and expressionless. He replied softly, "Then let's see if he's worth the price."

"Yes," the man nodded and walked away.

Qiao Bao'er couldn't quite understand what they were saying, but Jun Zhimu's clear and cold voice clearly indicated that things wouldn't end well.

The exquisite, lavishly carved ebony door stood open before them. Jun Zhimu strode through the threshold with his exceptional bearing, while Qiao Bao'er remained rooted at the entrance, unable to tear her gaze away.

She doesn't want to go in.

Because some of the sounds that come out of it are really creepy...

Someone was kowtowing desperately, thudding against the cold marble floor. His hands and feet were bound with thick ropes, kneeling on the ground, his voice trembling as he begged for mercy, "I was wrong, I really know I was wrong, I won't dare to do it again..."

"Howie, do you think there will be a next time"

A powerfully built man, at least six feet tall, let out a disdainful and coarse growl. He raised the black, long leather whip in his hand and lashed it down onto the man on the ground with vicious force.Tang Yu. She could only temporarily give up.At the same time, I remembered Junzhi Mu. Last night, she specially reminded me that she wanted to take her to a club to meet some people. She thought, given...
